On-Call - Banquet Houseperson - Westin Tempe
About The Position
The Westin Tempe is looking for an On-Call Banquet Houseperson to join their Banquet Team. This role involves servicing food and beverages to guests around the rooftop pool and cabanas in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. The position is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and servicing of all meeting rooms and spaces. Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Ability to communicate well with guests.
- Willingness to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms (e.g., different table types).
- Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs. through a crowded room.
- Considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.
- Remain professional at all times.
- Treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances.
- Be a guest relations ambassador every working minute of every day.
- Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.
- Adaptable to change in work area and hotel procedures.
- Willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
- Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job.
- Ask for help whenever not sure how to do something.

Responsibilities

- Adhering to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
