About The Position

The Westin Tempe is looking for an On-Call Banquet Houseperson to join their Banquet Team. This role involves servicing food and beverages to guests around the rooftop pool and cabanas in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. The position requires setup, breakdown, and servicing of all meeting rooms and spaces. Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate well with guests.
• Willingness to assist co-workers and be a team player.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in meeting rooms (e.g., different table types).
• Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs through a crowded room.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.
• Considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down.
• Must remain professional at all times and treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect.
• Every associate is a guest relations ambassador.
• Work habits should meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.
• Adaptability to change in work area and hotel procedures.
• Willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
• Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job.
• Ask for help whenever not sure how to do something.
• Adherence to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
