About The Position

The Banquet Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces, ensuring all supplies are stocked, and assisting servers and guests during events. This role is crucial for providing a clean, friendly, well-organized, and safe hotel environment for guests, aligning with MCR's standard of excellence.

Requirements

  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions, assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Always provide friendly service with a smile to guests.
  • Flexible schedule with availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel.
  • Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate manager. Never work while clocked out.
  • Must clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Must provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Repetitive Motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Lifting: Carrying certain laundry supplies, linens and other items.
  • Read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a smile.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, buffets, and other items as per the event order.
  • Clean and maintain banquet spaces, including corridors, elevators, and service areas.
  • Ensure linens, China, glassware, and other supplies are stocked and in good condition.
  • Move tables, equipment, and other items.
  • Assist servers and answer guest questions.
  • Monitor supplies and report shortages.
  • Ensure all areas used for an event are cleaned up, including the banquet kitchen.
