Banquet Houseman - Part Time (Shifts Vary)

About The Position

The Banquet Houseman sets up equipment for special events and banquets, including tables, tablecloths, chairs, and bar glassware. The role also includes server and bartender functions and cleaning the dining room and bar before and after events. The Houseman provides excellent guest service, maintains confidentiality, communicates respectfully with guests and colleagues, supports other team members and departments, and follows Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort procedures and policies. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or GED and previous guest service experience are preferred. The position requires the ability to perform the physical duties of Food & Beverage team members and to interact with guests and colleagues and resolve problems diplomatically. Employees must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. Applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Support and promote superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
Maintain strict confidentiality in departmental and company matters.
Provide impeccable guest service.
Set up tables and tablecloths.
Set up chairs.
Clean the dining room before and after events.
Stock bars with glassware.
Clean the bar before and after events.
Communicate and cooperate respectfully with team members and guests while projecting a positive attitude.
Assist other team members and departments to support the overall performance of the department and hotel.
Follow Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort procedures and policies.
