About The Position

At Hotel Saint Louis, our Banquet Captain is the behind-the-scenes hero who makes every event feel effortless. From elegant weddings to high-energy corporate events, you’ll lead the charge—making sure everything runs smoothly, guests are wowed, and your team is energized and on point. You’ll be the go-to leader during events, coordinating timing, service, and staff.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of banquet or event experience in hospitality
• Proven leadership skills—you know how to run a team and keep morale high
• Strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with people
• Cool-under-pressure mindset (because events don’t always go as planned)
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Hospitality or a related field
• Food safety certification (like ServSafe)
• Experience in a luxury or upscale hotel
• Familiarity with event software or banquet systems
• Multilingual skills—our guests come from everywhere!

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire banquet staff to deliver top-notch, memorable service
• Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown—no detail too small
• Partner with chefs, planners, and management to bring events to life
• Keep the energy high and the service flowing smoothly
• Jump in to handle guest requests and last-minute surprises with confidence
• Train and mentor team members to be their absolute best
• Make sure everything meets our high standards (and then some)
