About The Position

The banquet captain assists with the supervision of all aspects of a banquet or an event. They are responsible for training and evaluating the banquet employees. Aside from assisting with the orchestration activities among different departments, banquet captains make sure that customers have a satisfying dining experience. This is a multi-property position.

  • A cool head to deal with last minute requests and problems
  • One to two years of progressive and relevant experience
  • High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the planning and carries out details for banquets
  • Trains banquet staff
  • Arranges dining reservations
  • Responds to complaints regarding food or service
  • Monitors the work of the employees of an event they are captaining
  • Execute duties well so each event runs smoothly
  • Managing your food and beverage team
  • Briefing staff and checking the room set-up before the event
  • Ensuring the room is turned around, ready for the next event
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
  • Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
  • Addresses customer concerns and issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned
