About The Position

We are looking for somebody to join our team to continue to cultivate new client relationships as well as maintain our current client list. Banquet captain duties include but are not limited to: Illinois Serve Safe & BASSET trained, Properly assist in training staff, Projects supply needs for each event, Projects table layout and any additional stagging items and communicates to set up team. Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff, Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events, Maintains a thorough understanding of event contracts, menus, and operational procedures. Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling. Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitation of service areas. Room set ups, Break down and clean event space and set for next event per Edison’s & The Outlet standards. Assists other team members as needed or as business dictates. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company Team Members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate and help keep high morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness. Strives to create memorable moments for our clients as well as staff. Additional duties as assigned by management, Special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Illinois Serve Safe & BASSET trained
  • 2+ years’ experience banquet serving is a must
  • Must be 21+
  • Tech savvy
  • Basic math skills
  • Organized and have attention to detail
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with repeat customers
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve
  • Must have a flexible work schedule, events are majority on the weekends, we also have early morning events and weekdays events
  • Must be able to be to work on time
  • Must enjoy putting smiles on the faces of your customers
  • Must have a high level of energy and a sense of urgency in a high-volume environment
  • Must have a pleasant demeanor and a clean-cut professional appearance
