About The Position

To set up of Banquet bar and serve beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner that embraces, supports and implements the hotel shared values of acquisition, execution and profitability.

Requirements

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekday evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Two years’ previous experience providing customer service preferably in a similar setting with a working knowledge of Spirits, Wine, Beer and Food service.
  • .Knowledge of drink service and bar terminology.
  • Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Tips Training necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar, including stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based banquet event order.
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • When working a cash bar, request appropriate ticket for drink to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Stores and locks all beverages, food and other equipment items at end of function.
  • Cleans portable bars of all ice, debris, and dirt at end of function.
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
