About The Position

As a Bander at Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in setting up and operating high-speed production equipment with robotic elements to form and cut steel to precise specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety while supporting efficient manufacturing operations and delivering high-quality products. You will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure equipment operates efficiently, production goals are achieved, and quality standards are consistently met. This is a full-time, onsite position located in Kansas City, MO working 1st Shift (5:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, takes pride in producing quality work, and thrives on continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to maintain accurate production records and logs.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions.
  • Experience using precision measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements while operating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate high-speed production equipment with robotic elements.
  • Inspect materials before, during, and after production to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Record and report quality concerns or material deficiencies to the appropriate supervisor or Quality department.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment required to complete production safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose equipment and product quality issues while minimizing scrap and production delays.
  • Perform housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Complete production, changeover, and scrap reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Maintenance team with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
