About The Position

Interscapes, Inc. is one of the leading Architectural Woodworking firms in the Midwest and we are looking for a great individual to join our dedicated and enthusiastic staff to assemble and laminate cabinets, operating standard woodworking equipment such as a table saw, sliding table saw and hand power tools. This person must also be a reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated individual. All work is performed in a production environment and is subject to temperature variations. Overtime is required from time to time. Requirements

  • Must pass a drug and background check.
  • Working independently or as part of a team, using a full range of skills and techniques in operating our edge bander per customer specifications.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Math Skills: Basic knowledge of measuring and calculating dimensions of a project using a tape measure.
  • Physical strength/dexterity: Possess the strength required in lifting and handling of heavy materials as well as possessing the coordination required in using cabinetry tools (50lbs and on occasion up to 85lbs with co-worker assistance.
  • Willingness to learn and attention to detail
  • A work history that demonstrates that you are able to get along well with people and are energized by a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant woodworking coursework is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking processes, materials, and machinery operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials, and performing manual tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Cabinet making school and/or 1 year shop experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operating our edge bander per customer specifications.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Basic knowledge of measuring and calculating dimensions of a project using a tape measure.
  • Assisting in any/all other areas of production as needed and Flexibility to pitch in wherever needed depending on company needs.
  • Set up and operate edge banding machines, ensuring proper alignment and speed settings according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret work tickets and blueprints to prepare and configure machines for processing.
  • Monitor production processes and quality of finished products, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of edge banding equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished edges to ensure uniformity and adherence to specifications.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and solve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, machine settings, and any material used in the process.
  • Assist in training new operators as needed.
