About The Position

The Bakery Manager assists with planning, organizing, and directing Bakery Department activities. The role supports effective department operations, customer service, staff development, bakery production, security, recordkeeping, and coordination with other departments. The manager is expected to model professional conduct, promote morale through friendly and open communication, follow company policies, and exercise sound judgment in protecting the company’s interests.

Requirements

• Ability to perform each essential duty accurately and maintain a high level of productivity.
• Knowledge and ability to cost materials to determine proper retail prices.
• Knowledge and ability to prepare a master production sheet.
• Sufficient knowledge and ability to teach bakery production fundamentals, including mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying, and finishing.
• Ability to use sound, honest judgment and communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous customer service and develop strong customer relations.
• Promote department and store morale through professional, honest, and open communication.
• Comply with company policies, programs, directives, and the Code of Conduct.
• Set a professional example for other store team members.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing Bakery Department activities.
• Cost materials to determine appropriate retail prices.
• Prepare a master production sheet.
• Support the development of department personnel through company training, evaluation, and counseling procedures.
• Teach bakery production fundamentals, including mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying, and finishing.
• Help maintain effective department security in compliance with company policies and directives.
• Monitor competitive activity in the store’s marketing areas as it relates to the Bakery Department.
• Use sound, honest judgment to protect the company’s interests and investment.
• Coordinate and communicate with other departments to support the flow of products and service throughout the store and bakery.
• Maintain adequate and appropriate department records.
