About The Position

The Bakery Manager Assistant assists with implementing Division Bakery Merchandising programs and is responsible for pricing, displaying, ordering, and inventory control. The role supports the overall presentation, cleanliness, and profitability of the department and serves as a positive role model while providing excellent customer service and training to bakery employees. The assistant helps supervise department staff, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties, and assists the Bakery Manager with department paperwork. The position supports bakery production and sales, including baking and cake decorating, and helps ensure product quality, merchandising, sanitation, and operational standards are met.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED, relevant work history, or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
At least one year of experience as a Baker.
Strong customer service qualities.
Strong leadership ability.
Highly motivated and team oriented.

Responsibilities

Support the department's superior customer service goals.
Lead the department as a positive role model.
Assist the Bakery Manager with supervising staff, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties.
Implement merchandising programs.
Ensure department presentation and operational standards are met, including cleanliness, sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signage, and seasonal schematics.
Ensure the department offers the highest-quality products available to customers.
Monitor compliance with variety standards and ad-item display requirements.
Share responsibility for ordering and inventory control to meet division goals.
Assist the Bakery Manager in ensuring division-required paperwork is completed and followed.
Support department production, sales, baking, cake decorating, and profitability.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
