About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Department Manager in leading the bakery team, delivering high-quality products, and creating exceptional customer experiences. The role helps drive sales, freshness, and overall store success by supporting daily department operations, production, merchandising, staffing, inventory, and compliance. The Assistant Bakery Manager may assume responsibility for department operations when the Bakery Manager is absent.

• Ability to review sales, labor, and production data to inform departmental planning.
• Ability to train, coach, and develop associates at various skill levels.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable attendance and compliance with company safety policies and Code of Business Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily Bakery Department operations and maintaining standards for quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service.
• Foster a welcoming, customer-focused environment and resolve customer concerns and special orders.
• Assist with planning and executing daily bakery production based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Execute merchandising plans, promotions, planograms, and seasonal programs.
• Assist in managing department sales, labor, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and shrink goals.
• Support compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and developing bakery associates while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Perform Bakery Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
