About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager assists with implementing Division Bakery Merchandising programs and supports the pricing, display, ordering, and inventory control of the department. The role contributes to the department’s presentation, cleanliness, and profitability, while serving as a positive role model and providing superior customer service and training to bakery employees. The Assistant Bakery Manager works with the Bakery Manager to supervise staff and help ensure that merchandising, product quality, sanitation, inventory, ordering, and operational standards are met. The position also has responsibilities related to bakery production, sales, baking, cake decorating, and department profitability.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED, relevant work history, or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
At least one year of experience as a baker.
Strong customer service qualities.
Strong leadership ability.
Highly motivated and team oriented.

Responsibilities

Support the department’s Superior Service goals.
Lead the department as a positive role model.
Assist the Bakery Manager with supervising staff, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties.
Implement merchandising programs.
Ensure standards for department presentation and operations, including cleanliness, sanitation, inventory control, product rotation and quality, ordering, variety, signage, and seasonal schematics.
Ensure the department offers customers the highest quality products available.
Monitor compliance with variety standards and ad-item display requirements.
Share responsibility for ordering and inventory control to meet division goals.
Assist the Bakery Manager in ensuring division-required paperwork is completed and followed.
Contribute to department production, sales, baking, cake decorating, and profitability.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
