About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager assists with implementing Division Bakery Merchandising programs and is responsible for pricing, displaying, ordering, and inventory control. The role helps maintain the department’s presentation, cleanliness, and profitability while serving as a positive role model and supporting excellent customer service and employee training. The Assistant Bakery Manager assists the Bakery Manager with supervising staff, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties. The role also supports department production and sales, including baking and cake decorating, and ensures merchandising, operational, product-quality, and division paperwork standards are followed.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED, relevant work history, or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Minimum of one year of experience as a Baker.
Strong customer service qualities.
Strong leadership ability.
Highly motivated and team oriented.

Responsibilities

Support the department’s Superior Service goals.
Lead the department as a positive role model.
Assist the Bakery Manager in supervising staff, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties.
Implement all merchandising programs.
Ensure standards are met for department presentation and operations, including cleanliness, sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety, signage, and seasonal schematics.
Ensure the department offers the highest-quality products available to customers.
Monitor compliance with variety standards and ensure 100% compliance on ad item displays.
Share responsibility for ordering and inventory control to meet division goals.
Assist the Bakery Manager in ensuring division-required paperwork is completed and followed.
Support department production, sales, baking, cake decorating, and profitability.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
