About The Position
Franz Family Bakery is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join its Engineering team. The position performs assigned repairs and maintenance in an orderly, timely, and cost-conscious manner on bakery production equipment, freezers, and facilities. The mechanic helps maintain equipment productivity and minimize downtime, while following safety requirements and company GMPs. The role is based in West Jordan, Utah, and is listed as a swing-shift position with hours of 3 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Saturdays and one other day of the week are off.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of production manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Previous experience maintaining production-line equipment and facilities.
- Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and flexibility to work in different jobs as needed.

Nice To Haves
- Electrical knowledge is preferred; electrical and controls knowledge may increase pay, depending on experience.
- LME license is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on bakery equipment, including production equipment and its mechanical and electrical components.
- Maintain equipment productivity to minimize downtime and malfunctions.
- Complete time-sensitive work to support bakery production.
- Keep work areas clean and safe and follow company GMPs and applicable federal and state requirements.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventive maintenance reports.
- Prepare accurate parts request forms.
- Respond urgently and take ownership of maintenance and line-stoppage calls.
- Perform emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
- Perform duties in all areas of the maintenance department.
- Provide technical assistance and information to the Engineering management team.
- Recognize work that needs to be done and make recommendations to the Chief Engineer.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
