About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic III at Columbia Sportswear’s Portland Distribution Center, you will maintain and repair a variety of warehouse and facility equipment, with a focus on conveyor and sorter systems. The role helps keep distribution operations running smoothly and ensures equipment and systems—including motors, lighting, and plumbing—are maintained in good condition. The position is based at 7000 N Leadbetter Rd, Portland, Oregon, and works the swing shift Monday through Friday, 1:50 PM to 10:20 PM, with a $1.25 per hour shift differential. The position involves routine and preventive maintenance, maintaining detailed maintenance logs, completing assigned work safely and promptly, and communicating across departments. It may also include light janitorial work and other facility-related tasks. Regular physical duties include lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and moving throughout the facility. Requirements

5–7 years of experience maintaining warehouse equipment.
Solid understanding of safety protocols, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and emergency procedures.
Intermediate computer skills.
Physical ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the facility.
Proficiency with hand and power tools and strong mechanical aptitude.
Adaptability and comfort working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage time and workload efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse and office equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, racking, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities.
Complete tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager safely and in a timely manner.
Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and other facility-related tasks.
Lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
Foster open, positive communication across departments to support smooth operations.
