Requirements

High school graduate or GED required.
Must join union within 30 days of hire.
Must have a positive and safe work ethic, be a team player.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers in multiple functions and management.
Must be able to complete a variety of basic math and required documentation.
Ability to work in a high-temperature environment supporting fast-paced machinery.
Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and flexibility to work in different jobs as needed.
Must have reliable attendance to meet employer’s attendance standards for a production facility.

Nice To Haves

LME license or experience with electrical maintenance is preferred.
1+ years’ experience in similar maintenance of production equipment and facilities at a large commercial bakery, artisan bakery, or other similar industrial, manufacturing or production-line equipment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all bakery equipment, including production equipment, building construction, and facility grounds.
Maintain equipment productivity to minimize downtime and malfunctions, performing tasks within rigid time frames to maximize bakery product output.
Perform inside construction, which may include framing, plumbing, and electrical components.
Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and comply with company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Work in a safe and efficient manner, complying with federal and state requirements.
Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventative maintenance reports.
Prepare specific and accurate parts request forms.
Respond to maintenance and line stoppage calls with urgency and ownership.
Provide emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
Perform duties in all areas within the maintenance department.
Provide technical assistance and information to the Assistant Bakery Maintenance Manager as needed.
Display initiative in recognizing work to be accomplished and make recommendations to the Chief Engineer.
