About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is searching for a Bakery Maintenance & Production Supervisor. This role involves overseeing the maintenance crew and all maintenance operations, including repairs, preventative work, and installations. The supervisor will manage daily maintenance and bakery operations within required timelines and budget limits, ensuring proper inventory, equipment utilization, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include maintaining and servicing all production equipment to meet schedules and production specification requirements, providing guidance to inmate workers on training and production issues, and regularly inspecting all areas for health and safety concerns while upholding professional ethics.

Requirements

  • Expertise in restaurant or food service machine repair and maintenance

  • Ability to apply simple bookkeeping and work scheduling principles
  • At least three (3) years of on-the-job maintenance experience as well as supporting educational experience
  • Must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license if driving is an essential function
  • Must complete all required driver training and pass driver’s license record checks if driving is an essential function
  • Must maintain acceptable driving records if driving is an essential function
  • Must maintain statutorily required liability insurance if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business
  • Must take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter
  • Must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff and inmates in the daily operation of the ACI shop, to include staff and inmate evaluations, and resulting performances
  • Interacts with other department staff, customers, and ACI’S Customer Service Department
  • Approves the quality of products in various stages of the production process
  • Calculates and schedules jobs as to their production method in order to complete the job most efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Researches and develops more efficient production methods
  • Performs on-the-job training for inmates
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
