About The Position

The Bakery Clerk helps keep the bakery department running smoothly by preparing and replenishing products, assisting customers at the bakery counter, and maintaining a warm, welcoming customer experience. The position involves monitoring orders, product freshness, appearance, and supply levels; preparing baked goods; maintaining sanitation and an organized work area; and supporting the team and other store areas as needed. Training and support are provided, and prior experience is not required.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy bakery environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service.
Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and place bakery-counter orders.
Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout the shift.
Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods, pulling products from the cooler or freezer as needed.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Check in and put away products, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
