About The Position

The Bakery Clerk supports the bakery department by preparing and replenishing baked goods, assisting customers at the bakery counter, and helping maintain a welcoming customer experience. The role involves monitoring product freshness, appearance, and supply levels; preparing products for baking; maintaining sanitation and organization; and completing related department and store tasks. No prior experience is required, and training and support are provided.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy bakery environment.
Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service.
Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and place orders at the bakery counter.
Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels.
Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods, including pulling products from the cooler or freezer for baking.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Check in and put away products, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
