About The Position

Bakery Clerks help keep the bakery department running smoothly by preparing and replenishing products, assisting customers at the bakery counter, and supporting a welcoming customer experience. The role includes reviewing orders and product freshness, preparing baked goods, maintaining sanitation and organization, handling product and invoices, and processing register payments where applicable. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy bakery environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service.
Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and place orders at the bakery counter.
Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels.
Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods, including pulling products from the cooler or freezer for baking.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a positive customer experience.
Follow the dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
