About The Position
Team members in Metropolitan Market’s Bakery/Coffee Shop Department deliver an exceptional guest experience by engaging with guests, sharing product knowledge, and keeping self-serve displays clean and well stocked. The role balances routine work—including product preparation, stocking, cleaning, and display maintenance—with immediate guest needs in a fast-paced environment. Team members are expected to be dependable, collaborative, and motivated to uphold quality standards while contributing to a welcoming, service-driven environment. The position includes preparing handcrafted coffee and tea beverages, operating a cash register, assisting with bakery purchases, and baking, packaging, labeling, and merchandising products. It also involves maintaining a clean and food-safe workspace, supporting promotions and product ordering, and participating in monthly inventory.

Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service tailored to guests’ needs and build rapport through individualized service.
- Prepare handcrafted coffee and tea beverages consistently, with quality and attention to detail.
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently while engaging guests in a friendly manner.
- Stock and replenish products, following rotation and quality standards.
- Remove outdated items from the sales floor daily.
- Assist guests with bakery purchases, including serving from the cake case and answering product questions.
- Bake, package, label, and merchandise products according to quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, food-safe workspace and uphold food safety standards.
- Participate in product promotions and focus.
- Assist the Bakery Leadership Team with product and supply ordering as needed.
- Participate in monthly inventory to support accurate product counts and organization.
