The Bakery Cashier welcomes guests, helps them understand menu offerings, answers questions about ingredients and dietary restrictions, and handles order modifications, special requests, and substitutions. The role promotes menu items and ensures supplies are stocked while accurately processing cash, credit card, and digital payments through the POS system. The cashier provides correct change and receipts, responds courteously to guest concerns, and escalates issues when needed. The position also involves maintaining a clean, organized station; coordinating with kitchen and waitstaff; following cash-handling, safety, security, and food-safety procedures; helping with other front-of-house tasks such as to-go orders; and supporting a positive, inclusive team environment. The job requires customer-service and cash-handling skills, accuracy, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Employees must be able to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, crouching or kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds at least once per shift, climbing a ladder, sweeping and mopping, carrying trash, and working around refrigerated storage and heated cooking areas. The work environment includes occasional low temperatures, frequent exposure to or proximity to hot ovens and high temperatures, moderate noise, and stairs to employee facilities.
