About The Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position available only to UND students. The Bakery Assistant helps the baker with daily production of baked goods and desserts, supports food preparation and storage, and maintains kitchen cleanliness and sanitation. The position is paid at $15.00 per hour, is non-exempt and eligible for overtime, and is scheduled for 10 hours per week. It is not available for remote or hybrid work.

Requirements

• Be a UND student; only UND students are eligible for hire.
• Be able to stand for 3–4 hours.
• Be able to follow instructions.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Be able to handle and prepare meat products in a commercial kitchen.
• Comply with food safety and sanitation requirements, including removing jewelry and wearing a hairnet.
• Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the baker with daily production.
• Help produce cookies, bread, donuts, muffins, and desserts.
• Pan up products, scale recipes, and set up carts for the next day.
• Maintain sanitation standards.
• Help maintain the storeroom.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures in serving and holding food.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment correctly.
• Wash dishes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
