About The Position

As a Bakery Assistant at Wegmans, you’ll work with a team across all areas of the bakery to deliver incredible service and prepare fresh, great-tasting bakery items for customers. The role is suited to someone with a passion for food, serving customers, and working in a fast-paced environment. The position is located at 1835 Capital One Drive South, McLean, VA 22102. Availability is required for mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including weekends. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Requirements

Customer service experience.
Must be 18 years or older.
Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

Understand the products offered in the department.
Maintain the overall appearance of the department, sustain fresh product and appropriate levels, merchandise items in innovative and eye-appealing displays, and stock them in the correct locations while accounting for seasonal, holiday, and weather effects on sales.
Proactively approach customers, help them locate products, suggest meal solutions, and answer questions about products.
Recognize how products look and smell at peak perfection and use production guides, job aids, core recipes, and techniques to provide consistent, quality outcomes.
Assist with ordering and inventory processes, using order guides to help control inventory and shrink.
