About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate the S andiacre machine and ensure appropriate packaging of bagged products. At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always. We have implemented safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are working to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed within our facility. Each day, temperature screens are performed for each employee and visitor before entering the facility. Face coverings are available to all team members and enhanced cleaning and sanitation is regularly performed.

Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Sandiacre operator certification
• All employees are required to attend employee and safety orientation prior to performing the above duties.
• The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Fill bags with appropriate amount of product.
• Make sure bags are not overfilled with air.
• Ensure machine settings are correct.
• Enter correct date codes are on bags.
• Ensure equipment, including blades, bag seals, rear seals, and jaws, are in working order.
• Keep film filled and make sure correct film is being used.
• Check weights on bags.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client.
