The ACAA’s Baggage System Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor - Airline Services and assumes responsibility for performing manual tasks for the Airline Services department. This role involves working safely, developing job safety analyses, operating scissor lift equipment, clearing baggage jams, identifying airline property via IATA bar code tags, moving and loading baggage into conveyor systems, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning areas associated with airline baggage transference and Airline Service shop areas, manually assigning baggage within conveyor systems, monitoring and calling out baggage system faults, understanding and using a lockout/tagout program, washing Airline Service vehicles, cleaning exit windows of automatic tag reader laser heads, and assisting other Airline Service trades. The position requires a high degree of responsibility and awareness for safety practices and standards of an international airport, and may involve other related work as assigned or directed.
