The ACAA’s Baggage System Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor - Airline Services and assumes responsibility for performing manual tasks for the Airline Services department. This role involves working safely and abiding by all ACAA safety guidelines, developing or participating in job safety analysis procedures, and operating scissor lift platform equipment. The technician will be responsible for clearing baggage jams, identifying airline sponsored property via IATA bar code tags, moving and loading baggage into conveyor systems when required, and emptying trash receptacles in the Airline Services area. Additionally, the role includes cleaning all areas associated with the transference of airline baggage, cleaning Airline Service shop areas, and manually assigning baggage within the conveyor systems. The technician will also monitor and "call out" baggage system faults, understand and demonstrate the ability to use an "ACAA required" lockout/tagout program, and wash Airline Service vehicles. This position assists Airline Service trades and requires a high degree of responsibility and awareness for the safety practices and standards of an international airport. Performs other related work as assigned or directed.
