About The Position

The Cash Audit role is responsible for reconciling the store safe and tills, preparing deposits, and recording cashier and store overages/shortages. This position involves organizing and filing various financial documents, communicating with management regarding cashier performance, and assisting in tracking cashier accountability. The role also includes providing customer service, performing cashiering duties, and overseeing the customer service desk as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to greet customers, answer questions, thank customers and provide prompt and courteous service.
  • Ability to audit the store safe and randomly selected tills daily.
  • Ability to reconcile all payment media from the previous day utilizing computer generated reports.
  • Ability to enter sales and payment data into company computer program.
  • Ability to transmit paperwork to appropriate offices in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate with the Store Manager and Accounting Office about any reconciliation discrepancies and research causes.
  • Ability to provide customers with requested paperwork related to their purchase.
  • Ability to observe employee performance and paperwork to determine that proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Ability to provide training, encouragement, advice and feedback to cashiers.
  • Ability to perform cashiering, boxing, and other front end duties as necessary, upholding safety and security procedures.
  • Ability to assist customers with questions and problems regarding merchandise, payment, or service to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to make supply orders, arrange for equipment maintenance and repair, track cashier overages/shortages, and oversee customer service desk as needed.
  • Ability to assure return and exchange procedures are followed.
  • Ability to complete all cash audit functions in a timely manner (less than four hours per day for warehouse stores).
  • Ability to operate cash register, hand-held/tabletop scanners, conveyor belt, carts, flatbeds, trash compactor, adding machine, computer, and cardboard baler.
  • Ability to perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
