About The Position

A family in Rockville Centre, NY (11570) is seeking a reliable, experienced, and nurturing babysitter to provide occasional, ongoing backup care, primarily for their 8-month-old son and sometimes for their 3-year-old son. Care is needed during the parents’ doctor’s appointments and school closures. The schedule is as-needed Monday through Friday, approximately a few times per month, with shifts lasting 2–6 hours. Hours may vary between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The family can provide a few days to one week of advance notice. The start date is ASAP, and the end date is ongoing. Compensation is $22 per hour. Driving is not required.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• At least 2 years of paid childcare experience with infants and toddlers.
• CPR certified.
• Ability to pass a background and social media check.
• At least 2 references from paid childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, age-appropriate care for the infant and occasional care for both children.
• Handle infant feeding using food provided by the parents, diaper changes, and general care needs.
• Engage the children in age-appropriate play and activities.
• Prepare and provide snacks for the older child as needed.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment for both children.
