About The Position
As a Selling and Support Captain, you advocate for customers and serve as a role model for colleagues. This elevated hourly role focuses on customer satisfaction, merchandising, building brand loyalty, and driving results through promotional and omnichannel selling initiatives. Under the supervision of a People Leader, you help communicate expectations and priorities to colleagues. Depending on the Captain assignment, work may include fulfilling customer orders, merchandising, processing new products, or supervising the selling floor to deliver exceptional customer service. Advancement opportunities include Personal Stylist or Sales and Customer Experience Manager.
Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- 1–2 years of direct retail experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead colleagues in executing and completing assigned tasks.
- Model customer-focused behavior and provide colleagues with prompt feedback to improve customer experiences.
- Resolve customer concerns with customer-focused solutions.
- Promote the Macy's mobile app to enhance the in-store customer experience.
- Meet with People Leaders during the day to plan and monitor store activities.
- Provide People Leaders with ongoing feedback to improve customer experience and processes.
- Perform store opening and closing procedures, including accessing the alarm system and settling registers.
- Lead and participate in adherence to merchandise standards.
- Educate colleagues on point-of-sale technology, radio frequency equipment, and applications used for selling and order fulfillment.
- Depending on assignment, fulfill customer orders, merchandise, process new products, or supervise the selling floor.
