About The Position

As a Backend Engineer in the Money team, you will build and maintain backend services behind customer accounts and money movement. You will work on well-defined tasks with guidance from senior engineers, write clean and tested code, learn how banking-grade systems stay exact and auditable, and grow toward independently owning features. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional backend engineering experience, including working on services in production.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or another modern backend language.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, relational databases and SQL, and basic concurrency.
• Working knowledge of transactions and exposure to caching with Redis and messaging with Kafka.
• Comfort with Git, Docker, and CI/CD, and exposure to a cloud platform such as GCP or AWS.
• Careful, curious, eager to learn, and able to communicate clearly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in banking, payments, e-wallets, or another regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for accounts, balances, transfers, and payments, following the team's designs and standards.
• Deliver well-scoped tasks from implementation through production, including unit and integration tests.
• Follow money-handling practices including exact amounts, idempotent requests, clear transaction states, and audit trails.
• Help integrate with banks and payment partners and support daily batch and reconciliation jobs.
• Participate in code reviews by receiving and giving feedback.
• Investigate bugs and production issues with help from senior engineers, and fix them with tests to prevent recurrence.
• Write clear technical notes and documentation for completed work.
• Ask questions early, raise risks, and communicate progress to the team, Product, and Operations.
