About the position
This is a full-time fully-remote opportunity for an intermediate back-end engineering teammate to join a YC-backed startup. The role involves designing and creating intuitive and effective products and architectures. The candidate should have a strong ability to contribute code from day 1, make thoughtful decisions about the technology stack, and build an extensible and scalable product. The responsibilities include writing high-quality code, managing time efficiently, and providing feedback on code improvement. The desired qualifications include 5+ years of back-end development experience, proficiency in Java EE, AWS, Postgres, data structures, databases, SQL, and version control tools like Git.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, write, test, refactor, review, debug, deploy, monitor, and occasionally be frustrated by code every day
- Write code with high software quality
- Manage time efficiently and focus on clear goals
- Respond with a pragmatic approach towards tackling unforeseen challenges
- Write technical documentation
- Give feedback on ways to improve code
Requirements
- 5+ years back-end development experience
- Significant experience with Java EE, AWS, Postgres
- Experience with data structures, databases, SQL
- Experience with version control tools like Git
- Ability to learn quickly and integrate new tools/libraries with ease
