Backend Engineer

Ridecell is seeking a Backend Developer with 4 to 5 years of experience to join their team. The role offers the opportunity to work on their IoT platform and collaborate with industry experts. The successful candidate will be responsible for tuning and improving their RealTime mobility algorithm, designing and building distributed Microservices, optimizing database design, and solving integration and optimization challenges. They can expect to work with industry-standard tooling, contribute to the DevOps process, and have ownership over their code. Ridecell values clean and maintainable code, proficiency in Python and Django, experience with RESTful APIs, and familiarity with distributed systems. The interview process includes technical and non-technical rounds.

• Tuning and improving the RealTime mobility algorithm
• Tuning, designing, and building distributed Microservices
• Optimizing database design for maximum throughput
• Solving challenges with integration and optimization of systems under heavy load
• Working with industry-standard tooling such as Kafka, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud
• Scaling the platform and building out new features
• Contributing to the DevOps process and tool building
• Owning code from end to end of the software development process
• Shipping code frequently to customers
• Conducting at least two technical and one non-technical interview rounds
• Emphasizing logical flow and code architecture in interviews
• Completing a take-home assignment based on existing codebase or writing code from scratch

• Backend developer with 4 to 5 years of experience
• Familiar with Python and Django or willing to learn
• Proficient in writing clean, extendable, and maintainable code
• Experience with RESTful APIs and API design
• Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language such as Python, Go, or Java
• Proficient in relational database systems
• Familiar with distributed systems or willing to learn
