Backend / API Engineer, Financial Connections

Stripe is seeking a candidate to join their Financial Connections group, which focuses on expanding the scope of their technology beyond card payments. The candidate will be responsible for leading and executing large technical projects, aligning technical decisions with the company's strategic initiatives, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background and experience in designing and engineering large-scale systems.

• Scope, lead, and lay the groundwork for large technical projects
• Align technical decisions with Stripe's strategic initiatives
• Advocate for needs specific to emerging new businesses
• Collaborate with engineers to determine when to leverage existing infrastructure or build bespoke solutions
• Develop and execute short- and long-term roadmaps
• Make effective tradeoffs considering business priorities, user experience, and technical foundation
• Teach and mentor individual contributors and managers to become future leaders at Stripe

• Strong technical background with 3+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale systems
