The Back Office Technician performs patient care, office, and laboratory duties, prepares patients for examination, and assists optical professionals in providing eye treatment. The role supports a professional, comfortable patient environment and contributes to accurate documentation, patient education, and clinic workflow. Employees must comply with applicable regulations and company policies and must not engage in activities prohibited by law as the practice of ophthalmology or interfere with the clinician-patient relationship. Clinicians retain sole responsibility for professional services provided to patients. This is primarily an office-based role with travel between offices or clinics as assigned. In some clinics, the technician may be required to drive patients in a company-provided vehicle. The work environment has controlled temperatures, limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances, and usually low-to-moderate noise. The role involves sitting, standing, walking, handling, reaching, seeing, talking, and hearing; occasionally stooping, kneeling, bending, or crouching; and frequently lifting or carrying materials typically weighing less than 20 pounds.
