About The Position

GYMBOREE PLAY & MUSIC of Encino is seeking a FABULOUS TEAM MEMBER who offers world-class customer service with a GREAT attitude! We take a playful and active approach to learning, knowing that playing and learning are inextricably linked. Our "whole child" approach helps children to build strong motor and social skills that better prepare them for school, all while having fun. Parents and/or caregivers attend classes with their children ages newborn to five years as they explore unique songs, play instruments and games. We offer Play & Learn classes, Music classes, Art classes, Open Gym (free play), and a drop-off program for kids 3-5 years old.

Requirements

• Must be comfortable singing in front of children & grown-ups.
• Possess strong group leadership and customer service skills.
• Playful, fun, and energetic teaching style.
• One-year commitment.
• Ability to work set weekly shifts: Tuesdays 10am-2pm, Wednesdays 8:45am-1:15pm, Thursdays 9:45am-1:15pm, and Saturdays 9:45am-1:15pm.
• Ideally also available on weekends for birthday parties.

Responsibilities

• Teach age-appropriate play activities on custom designed play equipment, songs, parachute play, and bubbles.
• Lead instrument activities, singing, and dancing, exploring a variety of music styles.
• Facilitate hands-on, process-oriented art activities including painting, sculpting, and collage making, in addition to movement activities and songs.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Answer phones.
• Display and sell merchandise.
• Perform data entry in computer system.
• Clean and maintain the overall appearance of the site.
• Potentially teach birthday parties on the weekends.
• Pick up sub hours if other teachers need subs.
