About The Position

GYMBOREE PLAY & MUSIC of Encino is seeking a FABULOUS TEAM MEMBER who offers world-class customer service with a GREAT attitude! Are you outgoing, energetic, charismatic, playful, musical, silly, and great with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their parents? Are you great with Customer Service? At Gymboree, we take a playful and active approach to learning. We know that playing and learning are inextricably linked and our "whole child" approach helps children to build strong motor and social skills that better prepare them for school, all while having fun! Parents and/or caregivers attend classes with their children ages newborn to five years as they explore unique songs, play instruments and games. There are 3 core programs: Play & Learn classes include age appropriate play activities on our custom designed play equipment, songs, parachute play, and bubbles. Music classes involve instrument activities, singing, dancing and exploring a variety of music styles from around the world. Art classes offer hands-on, process-oriented activities including painting, sculpting, and collage making, in addition to movement activities and songs that support different art themes explored. We also offer Open Gym (free play) as well as a drop off program for kids 3-5 years old.

Requirements

• Must be comfortable singing in front of children & grown-ups
• Possess strong group leadership and customer service skills
• Playful, fun, and energetic teaching style
• One-year commitment
• Ability to work set weekly shifts: Tuesdays 10am-2pm, Wednesdays 8:45am-1:15pm, Thursdays 9:45am-1:15pm, and Saturdays 9:45am-1:15pm
• Availability to pick up sub hours
• Availability on weekends for birthday parties

Responsibilities

• Teaching Play & Learn classes (age-appropriate play activities on custom-designed play equipment, songs, parachute play, and bubbles)
• Teaching Music classes (instrument activities, singing, dancing, exploring music styles)
• Teaching Art classes (hands-on, process-oriented activities including painting, sculpting, collage making, movement activities, and songs)
• Teaching Open Gym (free play)
• Teaching drop-off programs for kids 3-5 years old
• Providing world-class customer service
• Leading groups
• Answering phones
• Displaying and selling merchandise
• Data entry in computer system
• Cleaning and maintaining overall appearance of site
• Teaching birthday parties on weekends
