About The Position

The Training Manager / Instructor role is responsible for the daily delivery of technical training content across StrataTech's enterprise client programs. This role leads facilitated instruction, manages applied learning activities, and ensures every participant leaves each session with the knowledge and skills to perform safely and accurately in a real job site environment. The Lead Instructor is the face of the program to every participant in the room. They bring field credibility, instructional clarity, and a standard of professionalism that reflects StrataTech's commitment to quality. This role is built for an experienced tradesperson who can walk into a room of journeyman-level electricians, earn their respect, and deliver technical content that translates directly to the work they do on site within a data center’s electrical infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical, commercial electrical, or mission-critical construction work
  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts clearly to adult learners with varying levels of experience
  • Current OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred, with the ability to gain certification within 30 days of hire date)
  • NFPA 70E certification or working knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety principles with the ability to gain certification within 30 days of hire date
  • Experience with medium voltage and low voltage termination work
  • Professional presence and the ability to command a room of experienced tradespeople
  • Willingness to travel to client training sites as required

Nice To Haves

  • Background in data center construction, hyperscale facility work, or mission-critical electrical environments
  • Familiarity with quality verification processes, energization planning, and commissioning interfaces
  • Experience with LOTO programs in complex multi-source electrical systems
  • Familiarity with digital work permit and isolation management platforms
  • Prior experience in training, instruction, or journeyman mentoring role
  • NCCER, IBEW, or equivalent industry credential
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license

Responsibilities

  • Deliver facilitated instruction across program content areas including electrical safety, LOTO and hazardous energy control, medium voltage and low voltage terminations, quality verification, energization readiness, and commissioning interfaces
  • Lead participant discussions, scenario walkthroughs, and applied learning debriefs with clarity and field-grounded authority
  • Explain technical concepts with depth and precision, consistently providing the why behind the what so participants understand the reasoning, not just the procedure
  • Adapt delivery pace and approach based on participant experience levels while maintaining full content coverage within the program schedule
  • Maintain a structured, professional learning environment from the first session of Day 1 through the close of the final day
  • Facilitate hands-on lab activities including termination exercises, LOTO simulations, equipment inspection stations, quality board reviews, and energization readiness scenarios
  • Supervise applied learning activities to ensure all participants are working safely, accurately, and in accordance with the program standards
  • Provide real-time coaching and correction during applied activities without disrupting the flow of the session
  • Ensure all lab equipment and mock-up stations are set up correctly and functioning before participants arrive for each day
  • Model the safety behaviors and professional standards expected of participants at every point in the program
  • Conduct knowledge checks and competency verifications in accordance with the program assessment structure
  • Complete practical sign-off observations for participants during applied learning activities and document results accurately
  • Identify participants who are struggling with content or skills and provide additional coaching before moving the group forward
  • Communicate participant progress concerns to ETO leadership promptly and with specific, observable detail
  • Ensure all completion documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted to ETO leadership within the required timeline
  • Coordinate daily program logistics including room setup, equipment staging, participant attendance, and schedule adherence
  • Serve as the primary point of professional contact for participants throughout the program
  • Represent StrataTech's standards of professionalism and competency in every interaction with participants, client observers, and site personnel
  • Communicate schedule changes, participant concerns, or program delivery issues to ETO leadership same day
  • Support the Safety Manager in maintaining safety standards throughout program delivery
