About The Position

Avantier, a global photonics company with over 25 years of experience specializing in custom optical design, engineering, and manufacturing for high-tech industries like aerospace, defense, and life sciences, is seeking a self-motivated sales professional for a B2B Business Development Representative role. This position focuses on managing the sales cycle from lead qualification to closing, generating incremental revenue, and building a strategic sales pipeline. The role involves understanding client needs, delivering customized solutions, and meeting activity targets. Avantier offers industry training, a dynamic team environment, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of successful B2B business development experience, ideally with technical products.
  • Proven track record in managing warm leads and assisting in closing long sales cycles.
  • Skilled in delivering effective presentations and demos.
  • Comfortable attending industry events (conferences, trade shows) to generate leads.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to build relationships with C-level decision makers is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with technical or manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Background or interest in science/optics is a plus.
  • Additional certificates are a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales cycle from qualified inbound leads to close, with a focus on generating incremental revenue.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, nurture relationships, and build a strategic sales pipeline for sustained long-term growth.
  • Collaborate with prospects to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives, and deliver customized optical solutions that align with their goals.
  • Consistently meet or exceed weekly activity targets, including outreach, follow-ups, and sales engagement metrics.
