Azure Virtual Desktop System Administrator
About The Position
AERMOR LLC is hiring an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) System Administrator to administer the Navy Flank Speed Azure desktop environment. The role supports server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, and systems monitoring. The administrator also consults on network, application, and customer service issues to support the security and availability of computer systems. The position involves deploying and managing Azure virtual machines for a large user base, monitoring session statistics to refine usage metrics and inform resource provisioning or shutdown decisions, and assisting with service optimization models. The administrator also provides technical support to the Enterprise Flank Speed Tier 2 service desk and manages Windows images, including group policy and end-user software.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of IT experience, including significant experience using Microsoft Azure.
- Relevant experience as a Windows system administrator.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or higher.
- Working knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework.
- Understanding of cloud computing and networking.
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- One or more of the following certifications: AZ-140, AZ-900, or AZ-104.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage virtual machines in Azure to support a large user base.

- Provide technical support to the Enterprise Flank Speed Tier 2 service desk for troubleshooting issues as required.

- Consult on network, application, and customer service issues to support computer systems’ security and availability.
