About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Architect to design and govern the Azure platform supporting upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. The platform covers subsurface and seismic data, SAP and enterprise systems, operational data from fields, pipelines, terminals, and refineries, and secure connections between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT). The role balances innovation in analytics, AI, and digital twins with the practical demands of remote and offshore sites, limited connectivity, safety-critical systems, strict cybersecurity and regulatory requirements, and very large data volumes. The position is 100% remote in the United States.

Requirements

  • 12–16 years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering, including 8+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience.
  • Proven delivery of enterprise Azure environments, including multi-subscription landing zones, hybrid connectivity using ExpressRoute and VPN, and large migrations.
  • Experience in oil and gas, energy, utilities, mining, or another asset-heavy industry, with an understanding of differences between OT and IT in risk, change control, and availability expectations.
  • Deep expertise across Azure compute, networking, storage, identity, and security services.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code skills using Terraform and/or Bicep, and CI/CD experience.
  • Experience designing large-scale data platforms and high availability/disaster recovery for mission-critical systems.
  • Working knowledge of OT security principles, including the Purdue model, network segmentation, and IEC 62443 concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work credibly with IT and operations stakeholders.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification or equivalent hands-on credibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OSDU, Microsoft Energy Data Services, or subsurface/seismic data platforms.
  • SAP on Azure experience, ideally with an Azure for SAP Workloads specialty certification.
  • Experience with historian and industrial data platforms such as AVEVA PI or Aspen, SCADA integration, and Azure IoT or Azure Arc edge deployments.
  • Familiarity with HPC on Azure, such as CycleCloud or Batch, and high-performance storage.
  • DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) and Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500) certifications.
  • Exposure to digital twins, predictive maintenance, emissions monitoring, or Azure OpenAI/AI platforms in an industrial setting.
  • Multi-cloud exposure (AWS or GCP) and TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
  • Experience supporting remote, offshore, or international operations across multiple jurisdictions.
