About The Position

Telefónica Tech is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect – Azure to take technical ownership of complex cloud solutions across customer opportunities, bids, and live delivery engagements. The role shapes secure, scalable, resilient, and commercially viable Azure solutions, from early-stage architecture through delivery assurance. It is highly customer-facing and involves influencing technical direction, resolving complex architecture challenges, and translating cloud transformation requirements into solutions engineering teams can deliver. The architect works across the full architecture lifecycle, including presales and delivery. The role also contributes to reusable architecture patterns, standards, and reference designs, and helps develop architecture capability across the wider team. Solutions may cover cloud migration, modernisation, landing zones, platforms, cloud-native architecture, security, governance, and FinOps. Telefónica Tech UK&I provides technology services across Cloud, Data & AI, Enterprise Applications, Digital Workplace, and Cyber Security & Networking. Requirements

Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure within complex enterprise cloud environments.
Strong cloud architecture knowledge across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, networking, identity, security, governance, and operations.
Experience designing cloud migration, modernisation, landing zone, platform, or cloud-native solutions.
Proven experience leading complex solution architecture and producing implementation-ready architecture documentation.
Good understanding of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and platform engineering principles.
Experience contributing to or leading bids, RFPs, proposals, and customer solution development.
Strong understanding of architecture governance, technical assurance, and design decision-making.
Ability to lead technical discussions confidently with technical and non-technical customer stakeholders.
Ability to balance customer requirements, technical quality, delivery risk, and commercial considerations.

Nice To Haves

Experience across both Azure and AWS.
Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification or equivalent practical experience.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification or equivalent practical experience.
TOGAF or another recognised architecture framework or certification.
Experience with FinOps, cloud governance, cloud security, and operational readiness.
Experience mentoring architects or other technical professionals.
Public speaking, technical thought leadership, or knowledge-sharing experience.

Responsibilities

Lead solution architecture for complex cloud migration, modernisation, landing zone, platform, security, and cloud-native engagements.
Shape technical solutions for customer opportunities, bids, and RFPs while balancing technical quality, commercial viability, and delivery practicality.
Design secure, scalable, and resilient Azure solutions across infrastructure, networking, identity, governance, and operations.
Produce and assure HLDs, LLDs, reference architectures, design documentation, and architectural decisions.
Lead customer discovery sessions, technical workshops, design reviews, and solution playback sessions.
Work with Cloud Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure architectures are practical, implementable, and operationally sound.
Provide architecture governance and design assurance, identifying risks, dependencies, constraints, and exceptions before they affect delivery.
Maintain alignment between solutions developed during presales and those ultimately delivered.
Contribute to cloud architecture standards, reusable patterns, blueprints, and reference designs.
Mentor Cloud Solutions Architects and strengthen architecture capability and best practice across the wider team.
