About The Position

The Azure Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, security, and reliability of the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including Azure infrastructure and identity and access management. The role works closely with infrastructure, security, application, and support teams to ensure cloud services are reliable, cost-effective, secure, and aligned with business needs. The administrator manages Azure infrastructure and Microsoft Entra ID, monitors platform health and security, supports incident response and service restoration, and automates repeatable administrative tasks. The role also implements and documents HIPAA- and HITRUST-aligned controls and partners with engineering and database teams to deploy solutions using zero-trust architecture. Additional responsibilities include identifying opportunities to optimize Azure cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency, and performing other job-related duties as required or assigned.

  • Ability to manage Azure compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and governance capabilities.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell and Azure CLI for administration, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code practices and tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent deployment automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud financial management practices, including budgets, cost analysis, reserved instances, savings plans, rightsizing recommendations, cost allocation, tagging, and ongoing optimization of Azure spend.
  • Ability to support SaaS integrations, enterprise application registrations, managed identities, service principals, and certificate or secret lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, zero-trust architecture, least privilege, privileged access management, logging, operational monitoring, and implementation of HIPAA and HITRUST security controls in cloud environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, document findings, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a cloud-focused environment and apply modern Azure administration practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and incident-response skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex, production-impacting issues under time pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to document technical configurations clearly for other engineers.
  • Successful completion of a Health Care Sanctions background check.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure services in a production environment.
  • At least 5 years of technical experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud operations, identity administration, networking, security operations, or platform engineering.
  • Current Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification.
