About The Position

CGI is seeking an experienced AWS Python Developer to support the development and modernization of cloud-based applications and data solutions within a large financial services environment. This role will lead hands-on development efforts across AWS technologies, working with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions aligned with enterprise objectives. The engineer will contribute throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), develop and enhance cloud-based applications and data processes, and help teams make effective use of existing enterprise technology assets. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years! This role is located at a client site in either Lafayette, LA, Birmingham, AL, Columbia, SC or Knoxville, TN. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of python software development
  • Hands-on experience developing solutions within AWS cloud environments.
  • Strong programming experience with Python and/or Java, with solid SQL skills.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, ECS, EMR, Redshift, DMS, S3, SQS/SNS, and RDS. Candidates do not necessarily need deep expertise in every listed service.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices.
  • Experience developing, testing, troubleshooting, and implementing enterprise applications or data solutions.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience using AI assisted development tools or techniques to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, or other SDLC activities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, developers, and other technology teams.
  • Understanding of enterprise development standards, reusable technology components, and software engineering best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Financial services experience is a plus.
