AVP/Indirect Marine and RV Underwriter

About The Position

Bank OZK’s Indirect Lending division is seeking a highly professional and motivated individual to underwrite boat and recreational vehicle loan requests submitted by an approved network of dealers and correspondent lenders. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Frequent customer contact is part of the normal course of business, particularly when communicating loan decisions.

Requirements

Two to three years of experience in an underwriting capacity.
A strong understanding of consumer credit.
Ability to understand and analyze applicants’ personal and business tax returns and/or financial statements.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Highly detail-oriented.
Ability to work some nights and weekends, including flexible hours.
Ability to read and interpret consumer credit reports.
Proven analytical skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or commensurate work experience.
Two to three years of experience in a banking or lending role.
Ability to operate customary business equipment and technology, with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Experience in indirect marine/RV underwriting.

Responsibilities

Review consumer loan applications and supporting documentation to determine applicants’ creditworthiness.
Ensure the accuracy of information entered into the system and clearly document the rationale for credit decisions.
Contact customers or dealers to communicate loan decisions and gather additional information as needed.
