Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, Global Technology Solutions (GTS), the AVP, Human Resources serves as a strategic advisor to senior Technology leaders, shaping and delivering integrated people strategies that enable business performance and transformation. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy and talent, translating enterprise priorities into actionable plans that strengthen organizational effectiveness and build a future-ready technology workforce.

Requirements

  • University degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10–15 years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise across multiple HR disciplines
  • Proven experience partnering with senior executives in a large, complex, matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale change and transformation initiatives
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate business priorities into actionable HR plans
  • Proven ability to deliver results in both the short and long term, aligned to enterprise strategy
  • Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills at the executive level
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and ability to navigate complexity
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with executive presence
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and inspire talent
  • Creative and forward-thinking, while effectively incorporating input from others
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to balance competing priorities to achieve the best enterprise outcome

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior GTS leaders and functional leaders to design and execute forward-looking people strategies aligned to business objectives
  • Provide strategic insights on workforce trends, talent risks, and organizational health to inform decision-making
  • Anticipate the people implications of business strategies and influence leadership to drive optimal outcomes
  • Advance outcomes aligned to the TD Way, ensuring talent strategies support business performance
  • Lead end-to-end talent strategies including succession planning, talent reviews, and development planning
  • Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, targeted development, and succession pipelines
  • Partner with leaders to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent with critical technology capabilities
  • Ensure strong talent pipelines for current and future needs, with a focus on high-potential development and representation
  • Assess organizational effectiveness and design structures that enable agility, clarity, and scalability
  • Lead workforce planning to align talent supply with evolving technology needs, including digital, engineering, and data capabilities
  • Support large-scale transformation initiatives, enabling effective change management and adoption
  • Drive continuous improvement in how work is organized to support a Simpler & Faster Bank
  • Champion an inclusive culture aligned to TD’s Purpose, Promise, and Who We Are / How We Lead behaviours
  • Leverage colleague insights, including Pulse data, to identify themes and drive targeted action plans
  • Enable leaders to foster high-performing, inclusive teams and a differentiated colleague experience
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Services, and Advice teams to deliver integrated and client-focused solutions
  • Influence and implement enterprise programs, policies, and practices across GTS
  • Simplify and modernize HR processes, leveraging tools such as Workday to enhance efficiency and experience
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality advice and support across all HR disciplines
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions, monitor trends, and measure the impact of HR strategies
  • Establish clear success metrics aligned to business and talent outcomes
  • Ensure disciplined execution of HR priorities, including governance, risk management, and compliance
  • Drive accountability with business leaders for delivery of agreed people outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, navigating complex stakeholder environments with credibility and judgment
  • Balance multiple priorities while maintaining an enterprise perspective
  • Represent HR on cross-functional initiatives, committees, and enterprise projects
  • Stay informed on internal and external HR trends to continuously evolve people strategies
