About The Position

Ready to take your aviation insurance career to new heights? The “perfect” candidate for this position has a familiarization with handling Aviation claims; specifically, knowledge of aircraft operation and/or repair. We are seeking a detail-oriented Aviation Claims Examiner to manage complex insurance claims.

Requirements

  • Direct experience handling aviation insurance claims.
  • Strong familiarity with aircraft reports and maintenance records.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data and policy language.
  • Clear, concise verbal and written reporting skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Aviation, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience
  • 2+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience in claims handling
  • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Investigate claims involving aircraft damage and liability.
  • Analyze data from pilot reports and maintenance logs.
  • Determine coverage based on specialized aviation policies.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanics, adjusters, and legal teams.
  • Monitor claims that are high-exposure.
  • Review all claims that are in litigation within reserve limits.
  • Authorize all requests for settlement on claims within assigned level of authority.
  • Prepare all reservation of rights and denial of coverage letters within assigned level of authority.
  • Report to the claim executive on the status of the claims.
  • Follow work plans, established timelines, and pre-defined goals for assigned work.
  • Meet commitments on deadlines.
  • Communicate activities, results, and observations with employees and management as appropriate.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing business practices.
  • Perform work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
  • Comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report any breakdowns in controls to management.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner.
