Under the supervision of an Audit Supervisor, this position performs the audit work needed throughout the audit process using established audit principles, theories, concepts and practices. All audit evidence is to be documented in audit working papers, which are reviewed by the assigned Audit Supervisor. Auditors also assist the Audit Supervisors in developing the audits' scopes, objectives and procedures and align them to established audit standards. Responsibilities also include writing audit finding drafts. Additionally, the position works with the assigned Audit Supervisor to perform administrative tasks as needed on each audit, such as scheduling meetings with the auditee and ensuring that the audit program is properly and fully completed. The position is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the audit test work and audit report drafts and is expected to perform the work necessary to meet the Audit Unit's established quality control process. In-state travel is required for this position. The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
